Sambuca stands out for the active participation of its community in the cultural life and promotion of the village, the strong synergy among local producers in joint initiatives to enhance the region's food and wine heritage, and the close institutional cooperation with other municipalities.

The Municipality of Sambuca di Sicilia is part of the cultural attractors area of the PON Culture and Development 2014-2020 and is listed in the Official MATTM (Ministry of the Environment and Land and Sea Protection) register, which includes all protected natural areas that meet the specified criteria, as it is part of the Monte Genuardo and S. Maria del Bosco Nature Reserve.

Named "Borgo dei Borghi 2016" (Village of Villages 2016), Sambuca is a member of numerous networks, including the "I Borghi più belli d'Italia" club, an association of small Italian towns distinguished by their significant artistic, cultural, and historical importance, the harmony of their urban fabric, and the quality of life and services offered to citizens.

The culture of wine and winemaking, along with the vineyard landscape, have enabled Sambuca to be included in the 39 European Cultural Routes that are part of the Council of Europe's cultural route, "Iter Vitis," the only one aimed at promoting historic vineyards and the most beautiful vineyards in Europe.

Furthermore, the village is one of the municipalities involved in the "La Strada del Vino Terre Sicane" itinerary system, recognized by the Regional Department of Agricultural and Food Resources. This itinerary, chaired by Sambucan Gunther Di Giovanna, aims to explore and promote an area rich in cultural and environmental significance, and to savor its wines and typical products.

Wine is the main resource of the local economy. The municipality is part of the National Association of Wine Cities, a network of wine-producing municipalities and territorial entities that hold at least one DOP or IGP designation.

Additionally, Sambuca is part of the Union of Municipalities of the Terre Sicane, the regional tourist district “Vini & Sapori di Sicilia” (Wines & Flavors of Sicily), the Association of Organic Cities - Culture of the Territory, which includes municipalities and territorial entities that share the goal of promoting organic farming, and the Bio Mediterranean Food District Sikania, recognized by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food, and Forestry Policies (MIPAAF). It also serves as the leading municipality of the BioDistretto Borghi Sicani.

Sambuca is also part of the “Strada degli Scrittori” (Writers' Road), a promotion program sponsored by the Valle dei Templi Tourist District Consortium and supported by Anas. Initiated by Felice Cavallaro, this program aims to preserve the memory of great authors such as Sciascia, Pirandello, Camilleri, Tomasi di Lampedusa, and the Sambucan writer Emmanuele Navarro della Miraglia.

Lastly, Sambuca has joined the Council for Italian Cultural Routes and the international cultural route "The Phoenicians’ Route," recognized by the Council of Europe in 2003. This route spans eighteen countries, many of which are in North Africa or the Middle East, united by a rich heritage that originated with the ancient Mediterranean civilizations and is reflected in various archaeological, ethnic, anthropological, cultural, and natural sites.
